Because Jesus gave himself up to serve us, serving (or ‘ministry’) is a way of life for followers of Jesus. It’s just part of who we are – we don’t always get it right, but God is transforming us to serve and love each other, the same way he has served and loved us.
Because serving is a way of life, there are countless informal ways we serve each other as a church family. There are also lots of more formal opportunities to serve, from welcoming, to teaching our children about Jesus, setting up early on Sunday, playing music, helping with audio and visual, making morning tea, sweeping floors or hosting a home group.
