Impossible births; corrupt religious leaders; insecure politicians; battle with a giant; the book of 1 Samuel has it all!
Join us throughout Term 2 as we begin a journey through the incredible true story of the rise of the monarchy in ancient Israel. The people wanted a king like all the nations; but it turns out that the leader the people were looking for was not the leader they needed. Their deepest need was to recognise and submit to God as their one true king.
These books point us forward in a powerful way to the fulfilment of this longing for a perfect leader: Jesus, both truly human and truly God, who in his death and resurrection would set up God’s eternal kingdom for all nations.
