KEY IDEA: The Courageous Christian who stands firm and endures to the end as they share Jesus with others is a confident Christian, thoroughly convinced that having ‘come once’ Jesus is coming again to save those who live and die believing in him. This ‘confidence’ will not just ‘stand firm’ but ‘stand out’ in a Christian’s courageous choices and conduct towards others trusting that God always finishes what he starts.
1) The Courageous Christian’s confidence (4:13-18)
Therefore encourage one another with these words.
2) The Courageous Christian’s concern (5:1-11)
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
3) The Courageous Christian’s cry (5:23-24)
God of peace please sanctify us completely.
May our whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. You who call us is faithful; You will surely do it.
