1.    Christians who talk the talk should walk the walk

‘Walking’ is a big idea in Ephesians 4-6

Ephesians 4:1 – ‘… live a life worthy of the calling …’

Literally ‘… walk worthy of the calling …’

Ephesians 4:17 – ‘… you must no longer live (walk) as the Gentiles do…’

                   Ephesians 5:2 – ‘… walk in the way of love …’

                  Ephesians 5:8 – ‘Live (walk) as children of light’

                  Ephesians 5:15 – ‘Be careful how you live (walk) …’

2.    Changed ‘walking’ flows from a changed mind

3.    A change of clothing

a.     The way we speak

Take off

Ephesians 4:25 – Falsehood

Ephesians 4:29 – Unwholesome talk

Put on

Ephesians 4:25 – Speak truthfully

Ephesians 4:29 – Speak to build up

b.     The way we handle our emotions

Ephesians 4:26 – In your anger do not sin

Ephesians 4:31 – Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger

c.     Our attitude to stuff

Take off

Ephesians 4:28 – Steal no longer

Put on

Ephesians 4:28 – Do something useful with your hands to share with those in need
